Bed bugs are insects that are rusty-brown in color, about a quarter of an inch in length, with flat bodies that resemble ticks and cockroaches. However, unlike roaches, bed bug infestation has nothing to do with how clean or sanitary an area is. After World War II, due to the pesticide DDT, bed bugs were virtually unheard of in our society.
